POSITION OVERVIEW

The Plant Controller, Sabine Pass will work directly with the Operations Accounting team on all finance/accounting aspects of the Sabine Pass facility, by directly partnering with the Sabine Pass Site Management Team in meeting financial objectives. Key areas of focus include monthly performance analysis and reviews, budget/forecast development, and plant site specific month end close requirements for Chenieres liquefaction operations at Sabine Pass. Additional duties include cost management analysis and financial-related process improvement guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Support development and coordinate plant OPEX / CAPEX budgets, goals and objectives, reconciliations, reports and analysis for Site and corporate management, including variance analysis reporting and recommendations.

Work with Operations personnel to prepare monthly forecasts based upon production drivers and key performance metrics at the facility.

Prepare monthly performance reports, financial statements and key metrics for analysis against budgets and forecasts; providing meaningful and actionable commentary for presentation to the Site Management Team and Operations Management.

Assist with identification of Site procedure risks and gaps which may impact Site financial performance and propose improvements or process changes.

Collaborate closely with Site and Operations personnel in order to understand the various aspects of the operation and the impact on financial performance.

Respond to inquiries from the Houston-based Operations Accounting team and company managers regarding financial results and special requests.

Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of balance sheet accounts ensuring that account analysis and reconciliations are completed as scheduled.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge:

Sufficient knowledge of LNG plant operations to partner with Site Management to analyze and report on operating results in order to influence business and operating decisions. Plant Controller will also have a strong understanding of relevant financial accounting standards and apply knowledge to financial transactions. Lastly, the Plant Controller, Sabine Pass will evaluate changing business demands and anticipate potential process issues that could adversely impact the accuracy of Chenieres books and records and recommend improvements.

Skills:

Technical:
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Understanding of Oracle v12 ERP system and/or Maximo software.
- Use of Hyperion Essbase/Smartview and Hyperion Planning.
- Excellent analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
- Process improvement or project management methodologies (ie. PMI).

Communication:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to relay financial information to non-financial managers and raise their financial awareness and acumen.

People:
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
- Experience with supervising personnel and coordinating teams and project tasks.
- Able to interact with all levels of management.
- Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team oriented environment.
- Ability to work as a financial/business partner and build strong relationships with the Operations team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education, Training and Certifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting and active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are required; Certified Management Accountant (CMA) a plus. Understanding of project management methodologies and techniques a plus.

Experience: 10+ years of progressive responsibility in Corporate Accounting, Operations/Plant Accounting, external auditing, forecasting and budgeting. LNG, Oil & Gas, or Production Accounting experience preferred. Prior Plant or Operations accounting experience required.

DIRECT REPORTS

1 Lead Accountant, 1 Senior Accountant and 1 Staff Accountant.

Ability to multi-task and function in a highly dynamic atmosphere; must exercise discretion independently.

WORK CONDITIONS

Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.

Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.

Periodically travel as business requires.

Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations and company policy.
