The Company

The Care Team is a privately owned, rapidly growing healthcare services organization that provides home healthcare and hospice services throughout the state of Michigan with additional operations in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. The Opportunity

We are seeking a self-motivated person to fill a Staff Accountant position for our rapidly growing healthcare service company. This position will report directly to the Controller and will be a critical member of the Accounting and Finance team.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for general-ledger account reconciliations, accurate reporting, and data verification that will enable senior staff to analyze financial performance and make financial decisions aligned with company objectives. The Staff Accountant will also monitor policies and procedures for assigned departments and identify and suggest improvements for accounting reports and procedures.

Specific Accountabilities Include:

• Performs general accounting functions and other related duties for the organization
• Assists in the preparation of monthly financials
• Helps maintain the completeness and accuracy of the general ledger
• Creates entries for monthly accruals
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books
• Reconciles general ledger accounts
• Supports payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• Review and follow-up on expense items that are outside of budget or appear unusual
• Prepares and maintains fixed asset schedules
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, or related field required
• At least three years of related experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of general financial accounting
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Experience with external audit processes
• Experience with NetSuite a plus
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
